Birthday Girls

Phoebe and Aunt Melanie celebrated their birthdays with a joint party and a cake which warrants its own post.

They both occupy the same birth position (third child and also youngest), and have a special delight in each other.

If you ask Phoebe how old she is, she will likely tell you that she's three.  She's two.  And if you confiscate the apple from her that she sneaked from the fruit bowl while you were on the phone and then wrote a note to the apple-eaters in the household to eat the apple that Phoebe started, all while she is screaming on your hip, she might lean down as you write and say unexpectedly, "I see Phoebe" because she recognizes her name in print.  That Phoebe.  She's our darling.

First, Happy Birthday, Phoebe! Second, the world just got smaller! I used to play soccer with Melanie (we were fellow goalies). I had no idea you were sisters. Next time to talk to her tell her I say hello!

Happy Birthday twice! How could she be two already?????

We are expecting a grandson in July three days before my husband's birthday and we are hoping, or my husband is lobbying, for joint birthdays.

I love that they already have a special connection. An aunt is often the best family member to confide in, get advice from, and if you are lucky, spend time with. Cheers to both the birthday girls!

What beautiful pictures and a lovely special bond between aunt and niece! And Phoebe can recognize her name in print? Wow! I bet you have an avid reader in the works! Happy Birthday (late) to both ladies.
